Many people visit us for clinical hypnotherapy to help them to lose weight after spending years of trying virtually every diet out there.
 
The simple fact is that less than 10% of people who have ever dieted have kept the weight off in the long term!
 
The body recognises that it’s being deprived of food and compensates by slowing the metabolism down: once you reach your target weight and start to eat more normally again, the body stores more fat than it did to start with as a safety mechanism - this becomes a Catch-22, and you end up weighing more than you did to start with!
 
Where there is a strong desire to eat healthily, you can access the resources of your unconscious mind through the use of clinical hypnotherapy and EFT to help you re-design your relationship with food, helping you to balance food intake and exercise. 
 
Our experience at Positive Change has taught us that weight issues are often symptomatic of much deeper unresolved emotional issues such as broken relationships, trauma, anxiety, abuse and low self-esteem.

 Case history
Maxine Henk-Bryce recalls a client whose had continually failed to lose weight through dieting for over ten years - but who quickly found success with Positive Change:
 
 
Jennifer had been 30lbs overweight since the birth of her fist child in 1995. 
 
She and had tried everything to loose her excess weight; a variety of diets, extreme exercise, and even fasting. 
 
Nothing she tried worked for long, the extra weight always returned, with a few extra pounds each time.  She became depressed and hated her reflection in the mirror and as a result, her sexual relationship with her husband was also suffering.
 
After 11 years of ‘yo-yo’ dieting her self-confidence was at an all time low. 
 
Jennifer had been recommended to see Maxine Henk-Bryce and she made an appointment. Within the first three sessions of EFT she had cleared several traumatic events from her past which included childhood sexual abuse and a painful divorce form her first husband.
 
Maxine asked Jennifer to stop any form of dieting and but continue to exercise normally during the time the worked together. 
 
In just one month she released 15 lbs without dieting and the remaining 15 over the next 3 months. 
 
She is no longer depressed and has greatly increased her confidence levels as well as renewing the intimacy with her husband. She reports to be much happier and at ease with herself.
